Job Description

The role 

Based in our Singapore office responsible for underwriting enterprise customer applications. This is an amazing opportunity to kickstart your career as part of a diverse team focusing on Due Diligence, Credit Exposure and Financial Analysis.

This role offers a unique exposure to our core business areas, collaborating closely with our key internal players (Business Development, Sales, Risk, Legal teams and Senior Management) and our high value merchant and partners.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Conduct business model analysis inline with internal policy guidelines and apply evaluation techniques to achieve the desired results for complex deals.

  • Completing customer due diligence checks and analysis into second line Compliance teams for high risk applications.

  • Make underwriting recommendations in accordance with frameworks and calculate exposure in line with existing guidance with the ability to tailor approach based on merchant specifics.

  • Complete financial analysis of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements and demonstrate a competent understanding of accounting principles.

  • Experience in underwriting high risk lines of business including travel, furniture, ticket and events, securities, gambling etc.

  • Prepare detailed oral and written summaries to assess micro and macro risks, mitigating factors and make balanced recommendations to present to management and the Credit Risk Committee.

  • Represent Underwriting in customer calls and meetings alongside Sales or Account Management.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for 

  • 1-2 years experience in similar underwriting or payments role or recent graduate in a numerical field. 

  • Drive and passion to build a career in fintech or payments.

  • Good IT skills, especially in Excel/Google Sheets.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and deliver results against a tight deadline.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of financial statement analysis.

  • Verbal and literal fluency in Mandarin is a value add given the close working relationship with Greater China

Hybrid Working Model: 

All of our offices globally are onsite 3 times per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). We’ve worked towards enabling teams to work collaboratively in the same space, while also being able to partner with colleagues globally.
