Deal Pricing Analyst – Role Overview
The Deal Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing end-user pricing for Strategic and Enterprise customer opportunities across all Ricoh products and services, including hardware, software, equipment service, managed services, and professional services.
Through detailed analysis of proposal components and pricing strategies provided by the Deal Manager, the Analyst prepares comprehensive financial models that determine target end-user pricing and associated margins for each component and for the overall opportunity.
This role leverages existing price support programs and established pricing structures to:
- Develop competitive pricing strategies
- Evaluate resulting Ricoh margins
- Identify variances from target pricing and margin ranges
The Analyst also conducts financial risk assessments, modeling optimal, expected, and worst-case scenarios for revenue and cost to support informed pricing decisions.
Additionally, the Deal Pricing Analyst:
- Formats pricing in clear, customer-ready presentations tailored to client requirements
- Collaborates closely with Marketing and Services teams to gain a deep understanding of Ricoh’s offerings, including upcoming products and services
- Recommends solution components that align with the best pricing and value for each customer
This role also contributes to departmental strategy by improving efficiency and effectiveness, with a focus on risk assessment, cash flow, revenue impact, and competitive pricing benchmarks. Advanced analysis of market trends and internal pricing data informs recommendations to achieve target win rates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pricing strategy recommendations to Deal Managers for customer and prospect opportunities
- Collaborate with Marketing and Services Operations to evaluate new services and align pricing models with strategic goals
- Conduct competitive and internal benchmarking to establish target market pricing and financial structures
- Perform variance analysis on renewal accounts to compare actual performance against initial projections and inform renewal strategies
- Assess financial impact of deal structures (e.g., lease + click, CPC, subscription models, change orders) and develop new pricing approaches
- Consolidate complex pricing proposals into clear, customer-ready presentations, including revenue and margin projections
- Create and approve end-user pricing for international opportunities
- Collaborate with global Ricoh regions to align sales, financials, and pricing strategies for international deals
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve processes and respond to evolving customer requirements
- Strategically position price support funds to influence customer behavior while maximizing profitability
- Develop commission worksheets to support compensation processes
- Apply price support programs (RCL and RAC) in accordance with established guidelines
- Partner with sales teams to align pricing strategies with growth and profitability objectives
- Create pro forma financial analyses for deals
- Analyze market conditions and historical data to project pricing strategies
- Conduct win/loss analyses to evaluate revenue and profitability outcomes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in pricing or financial analysis
- 3+ years of experience in sales or sales support with a focus on pricing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Access, or similar tools
- Experience collaborating directly with sales teams in a pricing capacity
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based environment with standard working conditions
- Work involves interpreting and applying complex data and delivering detailed, structured information
- Primarily sedentary role with occasional light physical activity (e.g., walking, lifting items under 10 lbs.)
- Requires standard dexterity for computer use and data analysis tools
- Travel requirement: less than 5%
