How should Rabobank balance risk-return, growth, and sustainability objectives? Where should it grow, where should it be more selective? And how can long-term strategic ambitions be translated into decisions that shape the business today? As Analyst Group Steering, you help answer these questions by connecting strategy with portfolio steering and decision-making across the organisation.

In this role at Rabobank, you work on Strategic Portfolio Vision, which defines a balanced long-term direction for the portfolio, and on Strategic Asset Allocation, where that direction is translated into tangible targets, trade-offs and the disciplined deployment of scarce resources. You will also support focused strategic deep-dives into topics that could materially influence the future portfolio, responding to changing circumstances or exploring a new strategic opportunity.

As Analyst Group Steering, you work with Group-wide questions with strategic importance. You will:

· Analyse portfolio developments across businesses, sectors, regions and products.

· Bring together financial, risk, capital, funding, customer and sustainability perspectives to form a holistic view.

· Translate complex analyses into clear insights and concise recommendations for senior decision-makers.

· Support the development of long-term portfolio ambitions and guidance.

· Assess strategic opportunities, constraints and trade-offs across the portfolio including where the bank should grow, maintain its position or become more selective.

· Contribute to strategic deep-dives that explore emerging opportunities, challenge existing assumptions or address areas of underperformance.

· Work with experts and stakeholders across the bank to connect different perspectives and create a fact-based common direction.

· Help continuously improve the methods, analyses and narratives behind our portfolio-management products.

In the Rabobank Early Career Program, you will work on your personal development for 12 months. This includes personal leadership, relevant skills, and various themes such as sustainability, as well as learning how a bank operates. In addition to personal development, you will choose one of the tracks that suits you. In these tracks, you will focus more on the technical content of your role. You will meet fellow starters from different departments weekly, and on other days you will work within your own team/squad. Through business challenges and assignments, you will get to know a large part of the bank.

· Work together with more than 20 Group Portfolio Management colleagues.

You are an analytical and inquisitive professional who enjoys making sense of complexity. You do not look at growth, profitability, risk or sustainability in isolation, but want to understand how they interact. You are comfortable asking thoughtful questions, working through incomplete information and turning analysis into a clear point of view. Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to help shape meaningful strategic choices and contribute to a balanced portfolio built for the long term.

· A completed Master’s degree in finance, economics, econometrics, business, strategy or a related discipline, with strong academic results.

· Approximately 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in banking, strategy, consulting, portfolio management, finance or risk.

· Strong analytical skills and curiosity to understand the story behind the numbers.

· Ability to structure ambiguous questions and connect multiple perspectives.

· Clear and concise communication skills, written and verbal.

· Collaborative mindset and the ability to engage constructively with colleagues from different disciplines and levels of seniority.

· Confidence working with Excel and PowerPoint and an interest in developing compelling, decision-oriented analyses.

· The judgement to balance attention to detail with a clear view of the bigger picture.

· A broad perspective: work at the intersection of strategy, finance, risk, sustainability and business steering.

· Visible impact: contribute to topics that influence the long-term direction and resilience of Rabobank.

· Senior exposure: help prepare insights and recommendations for strategic discussions and decision-making.

· Varied assignments: combine recurring portfolio products with focused strategic deep-dives.

· A steep learning curve: build a strong understanding of how different parts of a bank interact and how strategic choices become tangible portfolio decisions.
