The Opportunity:

To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire an Analyst on our Fund Investment & Managed Solutions (“FIMS”) team in Hong Kong. The FIMS team identifies and reviews private equity and private credit fund managers and works with our global client base to build and manage private markets portfolios. FIMS team members conduct investment due diligence, screen new investment opportunities, contribute to private equity & private credit research reports, and prepare client deliverables as required. Team members are exposed to the world’s best private sponsors and work alongside our leading institutional investors on a global scale. 

Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Perform the initial review and formulate the initial recommendation on private equity and private credit fund opportunities on a global basis

  • Contribute to in-depth due diligence on Asian private equity and private credit fund opportunities, supporting the deal team through to a final investment recommendation

  • Support the team to identify new investment opportunities and monitor existing portfolios by attending and capturing accurate notes in manager meetings, quarterly calls and annual meetings

  • Develop expertise in emerging technologies and leverage AI tools to enhance project execution and improve efficiency

  • Assist with ad-hoc special projects and other duties as needed

Your background will include:
  • Up to two years of work experience in the financial services industry, including recent undergraduate or Master’s degree holders; private markets experience is not a requirement but is a plus

  • University degree required

  • Capacity to learn, absorb and analyze information quickly

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to grasp new concepts

  • Detail-oriented, responsible and organized, with ability to manage multiple workstreams to deadline

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications required (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese
