Job Summary 
  

We are seeking a candidate with 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate to work as a Financial Analyst within Newmark’s leading Capital Markets group, which has completed $80B of transactions over the last 10 years. The candidate will work directly with the Multifamily Capital Markets group in Boston, which focuses exclusively on the sale, recapitalization, and strategic advisory of commercial real estate assets in the Greater Boston Metro including submarkets throughout New England. The candidate will gain a high degree of exposure and will have the opportunity to be involved in every stage of the transaction including underwriting, market research, property tours, preparation of offering memorandums, marketing and term sheet negotiation, and client meetings / events. The ideal candidate possess strong analytical skills, including a deep understanding of the commercial real estate underwriting and due diligence process, a high degree of initiative, a desire to continuously learn and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented team environment.

  
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Financial modeling and underwriting prospective assignments (individual or portfolios of investment properties to include but not limited to industrial, office, retail, multi-family, hospitality and land)

  • Assisting with due diligence required for underwriting and marketing (review and abstracting of leases, appraisals, property condition reports, environmental reports, income and expense statements, rent rolls, mortgage notes, title searches, etc.)

  • Assisting in obtaining revenue and asset’s acquisition/ disposition information  

  • Reviewing, consolidating and summarizing information for valuation and marketing purposes 

  • Coordinating financial analysis matters with other departments, locations and divisions 

  • Developing offering and presentation packages

  • Researching for comparable sold and for-sale listings as well as submarket statistics such as competitive inventory, availability, lease rates, etc. 

  • Assisting with public records research for potential assignment opportunities

  • May perform other duties as assigned

  
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics 

  • 3-5 years of commercial real estate, private equity, or investment banking experience with an emphasis in financial modeling

  • Advanced knowledge of Argus Enterprise and Excel

  • High-level understating of financial concepts such as IRR, NPV, Cash-on-Cash, Residual

  • Proficient technical writing skills

  • Ability to gather key takeaways for real estate transactions and recapitalizations from analyzing qualitative and quantitative information 

  • Knowledge of CoStar, Real Estate Capital Analytics, Axiometrics and other real estate data sources is a plus

  • Knowledge of loan documents and terminology

  • Experienced with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams 


 
Working Conditions: In office role, Monday - Friday. Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements.
