Analyst, Equities – Taiwan
Job Summary
Responsible for conducting fundamental company research to support our investment process for Asia ex Japan equities; covering technology companies listed in Taiwan. Part of our Asian equities research team supporting fund managers based in Hong Kong, London and Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, understand and identify the key sectoral trends that will influence the equity valuations of the companies within the specified area of coverage.
- Analyze individual companies to understand the present fundamentals and identify the risks and opportunities that will determine the sustainability of the business model in the medium-to-long term.
- Conduct detailed financial modelling to determine a Fair Value estimate for each company and express investment conclusions to fund managers through changes/maintenance of stock Grades.
- Research work includes company visits, optimizing information from brokers/expert networks/independent research providers, ESG analysis and the maintenance of financial models.
- Staying consistent with our investment process and philosophy to communicate investment views to our fund managers via formal research notes, daily/weekly conference calls and ad-hoc contact and emails.
- Proactively manage stock coverage lists by identifying new names of interest and dropping coverage of companies that are no longer investable on fundamental grounds.
- Support our ESG commitments, including proactive engagement with companies where necessary.
- Where appropriate, collaborate and support other analysts and investment teams across Schroders.
Qualification / Expectations
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. CFA designation is highly desirable.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in providing investment recommendations within the technology sector as an Equity Analyst.
- Experience in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
