Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to create reports or data models to provide insights for business decision making. The Data Analyst will need a background in statistics, data cleansing and modeling, visualizing data, and programming. Strong communication is required for requirements gathering, collaborating with team members, and presenting findings.
The position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence and is structured within IT under the Vice President of Applications. The position is located in Arlington, VA and requires working at the office five days a week.
Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end data analytics workflows that provide quantifiable business value to stakeholders.
- Develop using the data analytics lifecycle: gathering, requirements, data generation, data transformation, model building, model testing, model serving.
- Provide software solutions that are automated and flexible to future business demands, emphasizing the minimization of technical debt and rework.
- Utilize statistics, coding languages, and visualization tools to identify patterns in data and discover insights.
- Create slide decks and present analytical findings to a business audience.
- Utilize visualization tools to develop dashboards and reports.
- Utilize workflow automation tools to automate manual tasks.
- Support the business in benchmarking.
- Support the business in KPI, metric, and business analytics documentation.
- Develop and leverage subject matter expertise in a select portion of the business in order to better design and execute projects.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in analytical field with a minimum of 3 years experience.
- Mid-level skillset in any Python data manipulation library. Ideally, Spark, pandas, or polars.
- Advanced in statistical modeling especially in Python or R.
- Experience in cloud storage solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to translate technical details to business stakeholders.
- Ability to document requirements, design and build products using an agile methodology, and document product design.
- Strong work ethic with ability to effectively prioritize, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and business needs, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to efficiently summarize and prioritize information.
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience in Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or other Business Intelligence tool.
- Experience in Databricks and using Spark.
- Experience creating white papers where data analytics tools were heavily used.
