Job Description Summary:

Investment manager data forms the backbone of the investment process at Cambridge Associates. Data Operations, within Global Operations, plays an integral role in managing the firm’s trading, investment manager reporting, and document databases. Analysts ensure the accuracy and integrity of data, handle various data-related internal requests, and support the research process and investment operations. A core component involves relationship management, working closely with investment managers and third-party vendors to facilitate data exchange and resolve issues. Analysts drive departmental progress by identifying and implementing process improvements and executing cross-functional projects to advance the business.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the firm by establishing and cultivating professional relationships with external investment managers.
  • Collaborate with external investment managers to incorporate new investment ideas into internal databases.
  • Utilize expertise in investment data calculation methodologies such as TWR, IRR, and Modified Dietz for accurate data entry and comprehensive analysis.
  • Utilize expertise in reviewing financial/legal documents such as balance sheets, statement of cashflows, factsheets, attribution exports, offering memorandums, limited partnership agreements, etc. to perform comprehensive analysis.
  • Manage and update assigned portfolios of investment firms using internal databases and tools.
  • Coordinate with investment operations staff, client teams, and research departments to address and fulfill various requests.
  • Independently investigate and resolve issues and exceptions by engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and oversight for outsourced data entry functions to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Leverage institutional knowledge to develop and deliver high-quality training and documentation.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, propose actionable solutions, and implement changes to minimize risks and errors while enhancing efficiency.
  • Utilize Excel to analyze data, generate insights, and support decision-making processes.
  • Partner with IT staff to research and resolve technical issues, ensuring seamless operations and data integrity.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional results and service on small projects and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with 1-2 years of professional experience.
  • Relevant professional experience in finance, operations, data management, data analysis, and/or process improvement.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent customer service orientation, with the ability to understand and meet the needs of clients and stakeholders, providing high-quality support and solutions.
  • Proven ability to efficiently organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, accountability, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with formulas and functions (e.g., IF, AND, OR, NOT, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, AVERAGE, MEDIAN, MODE, STDEV, VAR), Conditional Formatting, Data Validation, Charts, and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience with Box, Asana, and Confluence is a plus.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship now and in the future.

Base salary range for this role:

Pay Range Minimum:

Pay Range Maximum:

In addition to the listed salary range, this position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package. Actual placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity.
