Te tūranga – The role   

We currently have two exciting fixed-term opportunities available. One is with the Deposit Takers Statistics team until 30 June 2027, and the other is with the Financial System Statistics team until 30 October 2027. 

 

As an Analyst you will contribute to the production, analysis, and dissemination of high quality, fit-for-purpose data and statistics.  

Day to day you will:  

  • Contribute to the timely production, analysis and dissemination of data and statistics. 

  • Identify and implement improvements and manage risks and issues in data and processes 

  • Contribute to the development of new collections and new methods of dissemination.

  • Provide advice on how to understand, analyse and use data and statistics, tailoring the advice to the needs of the user. 

 

Ō pūkenga – About you 

To succeed in this role, you will bring: 

  • A degree in statistics, data science, finance, economics, or related discipline. 

  • Experience in/ability to   learn and leverage a range of data platforms and tools. Experience in Excel, PowerBi, R, Python and / or SQL an advantage.

  • Understanding of financial, economic and / or banking data. 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience

  • Sound judgement and the ability to think holistically across a broad range of issues

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $69,030 to $91,102 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
