Job Description
The Analyst, will be a key contributor of BWS’ growing credit risk team and will report to the Vice President within our Risk Management team. The role will be based in Brookfield’s Toronto office at Brookfield Place.
The role support our credit risk analytics team across a broad range of public fixed income and alternative investment products including Private Loans, Term Loans, LPs, and Third-Party Funds in a variety of investment structures. The Analyst will work closely with various internal teams responsible for Origination, Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, Finance, as well as external parties and financial institutions.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Investment Teams: Partner with Brookfield Investment teams and portfolio managers to comprehensively understand, assess, and monitor credit risk across all company investments, including public fixed income, real estate credit, structured products, private debt, and direct lending.

Prepare Analytical Materials: Develop and prepare detailed background materials for periodic discussions with investment teams and external asset managers.

Credit Concern Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate periodic reporting of the Credit Concern list and associated analytics to all operating companies.

Data Management: Liaise with the operations team to maintain and update credit risk-specific data fields within the enterprise database.

Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive Credit Risk dashboard for senior management, utilizing tools such as Power BI, Excel, and Python for enhanced reporting and accessibility.

Ad-Hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc analyses upon request to support diverse credit risk assessment requirements including credit risk methodologies and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Degree in finance, accounting or related business discipline

Working towards completion of CPA, CFA or related designation will be an asset

Recent university graduate or professional with 1-2 years of experience in finance, or related field with a keen interest in data management, analysis and reporting within credit investing and investment risk

Above-average proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Power BI, VBA, Power Query, Python); experience with SQL or other data tools and Clearwater Analytics environment is an asset
