As a Cost Analyst, you will be responsible and accountable for maintaining product cost data files and governing standard costs, including the loading and maintenance of cost files (both directly and through third-party data sources). You will work closely with Senior Analysts, suppliers, and category management during the annual price increase process to ensure the timely receipt of files and that all deadlines are met. You will be accountable for the timely resolution of support requests received through commercial and corporate mailboxes and will work daily with Senior Analysts to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of product cost data files. Additionally, you will mentor Associate Analysts on daily responsibilities, including cost file management and department mailbox administration.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for the quality of loaded supplier cost and published price files.
- Accountable for managing the department mailbox, as assigned.
- Monitors product data accuracy in conjunction with third-party data sources.
- Responsible for standard cost governance and root cause analysis of cost-related issues.
- Supports Senior Analysts by providing cost analysis insights to commercial and corporate departments.
- Accountable for the accuracy of supplier cost file maintenance, including additions, deletions, and modifications.
- Monitors and ensures the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of purchase cost data within assigned systems.
- Collaborates with Senior Analysts and Associate Analysts to identify and implement process improvements that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience with data maintenance and data loading processes.
- Previous Wesco, Anixter, or equivalent distribution industry experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to interact and work effectively with management and peers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to multitask effectively.
- Additional computer programming skills, such as Visual Basic or Java, preferred.
- Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Power BI.
