Description

The Analyst, Global Strategy will work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Director of Global Strategy and Director of Global Strategy and Special Projects to identify, analyze, articulate and advance CAE’s strategy. In this role, this person will be responsible for supporting CAE’s OKR program, strategic planning process, and critical special projects aimed at identifying and solving key business challenges in partnership with business divisions and functions. This person will also work frequently with the other teams in the CSO organization (i.e. Investor Relations, Competitive Intelligence, Data Strategy, Market Insights) as required.


Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead aspects of CAE’s strategic planning process including market and competitive research and analysis of key business performance indicators
  • Work closely with cross-company partners to design and ensure the alignment of strategic plans and initiatives and leverage OKRs to enable their success
  • Create and support the presentation of strategic materials at all levels of the company, including the executive management team and Board of Directors (BoD). Deliverables include: Annual workshop materials, quarterly reports for the CAE BoD, executive presentations, annual board strategic meeting materials, and more

 

Special Projects and Risk Support:

  • The Global Strategy team works collaboratively across divisions and functions to conduct deep-dive assessments of critical business opportunities and risks at an average cadence of ~1 project per month. Specific responsibilities include: research, financial and market modeling, company and operational analysis and the creation and presentation of materials to working-level and executive audiences from across the company (including the CEO and EMC). The Global Strategy team also conducts formal risk monitoring, workshops, and executive brief-outs at an enterprise level to defend CAE’s position from emerging risks – including geopolitical, financial, physical, and competitive. This role will support the risk management process and ensuring linkage between risk management and strategy
  • Support the ongoing maturation, rollout and advancement of CAE’s OKR program including identification and crafting of executive OKRs and providing ongoing support, coaching and governance for the broader organization
  • Support and lead aspects of multiple ongoing internal initiatives including: 
    • Support leadership onboarding, talent development initiatives, and internal communications. Contribute to the design and execution of workshops, offsites, and strategic briefings
    • Support the Incubation organization in advancing nascent technologies
    • Conduct regular reporting of competitive intelligence, macroeconomic and geopolitical developments
    • Advance usage of artificial intelligence toolsets across the CSO organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 2 to 5 years experience in similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to work with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strategic and analytical mind-set and ability to understand, analyze and explain complex frameworks
