As a functional administrator, this position reports to the business owners and defines requirements, ensures system data integrity and participates/leads in testing for applications used by multiple business functions. Investigates and helps resolve production problems and serves as liaison to other business departments to provide expertise of specific business applications and overall information systems.- Participates in systems development projects as a subject matter expert in major business application or set of applications. Consults with business unit management on a regular basis to ensure that business and customer needs are addressed. Develop and maintain detailed business processes and procedures.
- In partnership with the business departments and technical teams, develops detailed systems design specifications and components (user screens, program logic, calculations, formats, reports, interfaces, etc.).
- Develops system acceptance test plans, objectives, and cases/scripts. Assists in the development of written procedures to ensure optimal system utilization and administration.
- Provides assistance with user training and documentation activities.
- Provides problem resolution and enhancement support for production applications. Participates in priority setting for IT initiatives by facilitating priority discussions with unit management.
- Provides system support and troubleshooting for the business departments. Train new users and problem solve general questions. Develop and maintain reporting as needed by the business departments. Heavy liaison to IT department.
- Researches and identifies strategic business opportunities for enhanced efficiency, revenue growth, and customer service with new systems development.
Skills Required
- Experience as a functional administrator or subject-matter expert for major business applications
- Ability to define business requirements and ensure system data integrity
- Experience developing detailed system design specifications (screens, logic, reports, interfaces)
- Experience creating system acceptance test plans, cases, and scripts
- Experience providing production support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for applications
- Experience training users and creating user documentation and procedures
- Experience developing and maintaining reporting for business stakeholders
- Proven liaison experience working closely with IT teams and business unit management
