With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time. EBeam’s mission encapsulates its role as the “eyes” of KLA’s product line, providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible. Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

You will be part of a Artificial Intelligence and High Performance Computing group that develops algorithms and software solutions that enhance the performance of our inspection tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in conventional image processing techniques, including:
    • Filtering (Gaussian, Median, etc.)
    • Edge detection (Sobel, Canny)
    • Thresholding, morphological operations, and histogram analysis
    • Fourier Transforms
  • Familiarity with classical computer vision methods, such as:
    • Feature extraction (SIFT, SURF, ORB)
    • Object detection using Haar cascades or contour analysis
    • Image registration, geometric transformations, and camera calibration
  • Hands-on experience with tools like OpenCV, scikit-image, or MATLAB.
  • Expertise in C/C++, Linux Development.
  • Good debugging skills in using gdb and Linux system utilities to troubleshoot timing sensitive distributed applications.

  • Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, calculus and statistics.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and troubleshoot visual data effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and customer environments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Mobility & Commitment:
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for long-term support engagements.
  • Availability for on-site assignments lasting 12 months or more, depending on project requirements.

Things that can make us go Wow:

• Academic projects or internships involving image analysis or computer vision.
• Exposure to machine learning or deep learning for visual tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years
