Renesas is a global semiconductor company delivering innovative embedded processing, analog, power, and connectivity solutions. This role supports advanced power management products for demanding compute, AI, datacenter, and infrastructure applications.
Job DescriptionRenesas is seeking an experienced Analog Mixed Signal System Architect to define, model, and validate next-generation digital power delivery solutions for AI, datacenter, and high-performance computing applications.
This role focuses on system architecture, behavioral modeling, mixed-signal interface definition, and cross-functional technical leadership. The successful candidate will translate product and customer requirements into scalable system architectures and executable models that guide development across analog, digital, firmware, verification, validation, applications, and software teams.
The role provides significant technical influence across the full product lifecycle, from architectural exploration through silicon validation and customer deployment.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve executable mixed-signal system models for digital multiphase controllers and related power management products.
- Define system-level behavior for sensing paths, telemetry, ADC/DAC/PWM interfaces, compensation, loop behavior, latency, quantization, noise, operating limits, and corner conditions.
- Translate product requirements, customer use cases, and loop-performance goals into architectural constraints and model-based tradeoffs.
- Define mixed-signal interface contracts between systems, analog, digital, firmware, design verification, validation, applications, and software/tool teams.
- Establish timing, accuracy, observability, and correlation expectations for analog and mixed-signal interfaces.
- Create architectural tests, reference scenarios, and model-based evidence that validate sequencing, cross-domain interactions, and system behavior before final implementation.
- Work with analog designers to ensure circuit-level implementation converges to system intent without taking ownership of block-level analog closure.
- Support reusable modeling and data workflows that make system behavior traceable, comparable, and easier to validate across product generations.
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor product development, power management, mixed-signal ICs, analog/mixed-signal architecture, or system architecture.
- Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal building blocks such as ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, references, sensing paths, timing circuits, PWM paths, and power stages.
- Strong system-level modeling experience using behavioral, real-number, MATLAB, Python, SIMPLIS, Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog RNM, or equivalent environments.
- Ability to reason across analog, digital, firmware, validation, application, and customer-facing behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to define testable system requirements, architectural tradeoffs, and evidence needed for technical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital multiphase controllers, DC/DC converters, voltage regulators, power management ICs, or high-current datacenter power applications.
- Strong understanding of control-loop behavior, stability, compensation, latency, quantization, noise, limits, and model-to-silicon correlation.
- Experience with automation, scripting, data analysis, structured engineering data, or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Experience presenting complex cross-domain technical issues to senior technical and leadership audiences.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. (Required)
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Mixed-Signal Design, or a related discipline. (Preferred)
