Job Summary:

Our approach to internship is to make the successful candidate an integral part of our team. We understand that it is best to learn through direct involvement and we will provide you with tasks that enable you to learn and to be productive at the same time. The more you learn the more complex your tasks will become. The internship program is an important part of our recruiting strategy.
 

Responsibilities:

• As the Intern, High Speed Analog IC Design, you will be involved with:
  • The design, development, verification and characterization of analog and mixed-signal circuits for use in our data communications products. 
  • Circuits such as phase-locked loops, equalizers, optical and cable receivers and drivers plus other key circuit building blocks.  State-of-the-art BiCMOS and CMOS technologies are used for these circuits. 
  • Advanced CAD tools for the design, layout, simulation, and verification of the analog blocks plus scripting work for IC design and validation automation using Python, Skill, TCL, etc. 
  • Semtech’s dynamic team environment and senior designers who will provide mentoring and guidance throughout the internship term.
     

This position is for a 12 – 16-month student Analog IC design internship at Semtech Canada with the Signal Integrity Products Group (SIP) in our Calgary Design Centre.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Good understanding of analog electronic circuit fundamentals
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team environment
• Exposure to transistor level circuit design/analysis would be an asset
• Exposure to CAD circuit design tools (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso) would be an asset
• Experience with Matlab and/or scripting languages such as Python would be an asset
• Desired start date May 2027, 12-16 month term

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $26 - $28.5 CAD per/hr.  There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
