This is a key role in Brazil Custody Operations, which is part of the team responsible for the Citi DTVM liquidity and funding control function. Citi DTVM is the legal entity used by Custody business in Brazil.
Responsibilities:
- Execute liquidity and funding processing related to Brazil Custody Operations.
- Formulate procedures, techniques and contribute to the development of new techniques that increase Custody Operations productivity.
- Serve as an analytical and procedural subject matter expert, and as first point of escalation for management and internal/external clients.
- Escalate control gaps and issues to senior management as needed
- Identify control gaps during settlement cycle and implements appropriate solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses
- Analyze data to identify control deficiencies and resolve discovered issues through implementing appropriate procedures
- Ensures comprehensive procedures and documentation is in place across all processes performed.
- Support and assist in the effective delivery of the service provided by the area and take supervision in the absence of the manager.
- Support key stakeholders by providing relevant KPI's and statistics to driven business growth and risk control
- Increase operational efficiency by acting as a trusted advisor on Custody Operations matters.
- Works in partnership with Technology and the business to design and implement specific programs.
- Serve as a focal point with Markets team regarding day-to-day Custody Operation needs.
- Represent Custody Operations at key local industry working groups and regulatory forums.
- Support the Internal Audit, Compliance Assurance and Regulatory reviews to ensure fair and accurate assessments and consistent outcomes.
- Adhocs responsibilities as assigned
- Provide informal guidance and training to new and lower-level team members, as needed
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- The successful candidate will have experience in Operations, Securities Services – Non-resident investors. Brazilian payment system acquired in previous functions i.e., Piloto, Settlement.
- Professional certification from a local self-regulation entity is required – PQO Operações is Mandatory. PQO Compliance is desirable
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem solving capability
- Fast-thinking; able to quickly identify the root of an issue
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and be an advanced user of MS PowerPoint, Excel and Project
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years of experience understanding of the regulatory environment within which Citi operates
- Fluent in English
