AML/CFT Compliance Expert

A key part of building our business is ensuring we do it ethically and sustainably. To do so, Adyen needs to understand and monitor what happens on our platform at all times and whether this is in line with regulations and our risk appetite. Ensuring scalability of the AML Risk framework is of essence.

To achieve this, we are looking for an AML Compliance Expert to join our AML Compliance Department based in Amsterdam and cover our global business. Do you want to be at the forefront of the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing and join a passionate team of AML Compliance experts? Are you somebody who enjoys the challenge of navigating AML Compliance matters in a growing and dynamic business? Then, this is the role for you!

What you’ll do

  • Join a team of AML Compliance experts who design, execute, and monitor AML Compliance processes. Among other activities the team advises on AML risks across customer lifecycle (e.g. CDD, Sanction screening, etc.), coordinates regulatory AML related inquiries, or delivers AML training.
  • Analyze and translate the latest regulatory requirements and internal policy changes into risk assessments and procedures. Subsequently, you will work with internal departments to implement the necessary measures.
  • Though operational work on most individual merchants or setups is part of the scope, you will  mainly work on more holistic AML risk assessments of merchant groups, products, and industries.
  • Challenge the status quo continuously, finding AML Compliance solutions for new products, setups, and processes.
  • Engage with key stakeholders within and outside the Compliance teams and work cooperatively to design, develop, and implement enhancements.

Who you are

  • A minimum of (3 years +) of relevant experience in AML Compliance, preferably not (only) in AML operations but also expertise-driven roles.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT laws and regulations and intrinsic motivation to follow trends and developments in the AML domain.
  • Exceptional analytical, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the financial sector is a must. Experience with payments is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent verbal and written English.
