- Conduct end-to-end AML, sanctions, fraud, and financial crime investigations across customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, and post-transaction reviews.
- Analyze customer activity, transactional behavior, device intelligence, blockchain or payment flows (where applicable), and external intelligence to identify suspicious activity.
- Escalate potentially suspicious activity and prepare clear, well-supported investigative summaries and SAR recommendations.
- Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and adverse media research on higher-risk customers and transactions.
- Identify new money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion, mule account, and synthetic identity typologies relevant to fintech and cross-border payments.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Risk teams to improve monitoring rules, reduce false positives, and strengthen investigative tooling.
- Use AI tools responsibly to improve investigation quality, research, documentation, and productivity while maintaining sound investigative judgment.
- Help develop investigation playbooks, SOPs, QA standards, and knowledge articles.
- Monitor investigation metrics, identify operational bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in regulatory examinations, audits, internal QA reviews, and periodic training activities.
- Contribute to building an increasingly automated, intelligence-driven Financial Crimes function.
- 3–6 years of experience in AML investigations, transaction monitoring, fraud investigations, sanctions compliance, or financial crime operations.
- Experience within a fintech, payments company, digital bank, crypto platform, or other fast-paced financial institution strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of AML/BSA concepts, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity investigations.
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills with the ability to connect multiple data points into clear, evidence-based conclusions.
- Strong written communication skills, particularly for investigative case documentation.
- Comfortable working with large datasets, multiple systems, and evolving investigative tools.
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable operating with ambiguity while maintaining sound risk judgment.
- Demonstrated ownership, attention to detail, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience with case management platforms
- Advanced English level; Spanish proficiency is highly desirable.
- Experience investigating cross-border payments, remittances, fintech, digital wallets, cryptocurrency, or embedded finance products.
- Experience working with AI assistants or LLMs to accelerate research, investigations, documentation, or operational workflows.
- Experience using SQL, BI tools,or workflow automation tools is a plus.

- ACAMS, CFCS, CAMS-Audit, or other relevant financial crime certifications.
