Make a Difference. Honor a Legacy. Serve Those Who Served.

At Ohio’s Hospice, we believe every veteran deserves to be honored, recognized, and cared for with dignity at the end of life. As an American Pride Liaison, you’ll play a meaningful role in connecting veterans, their families, and our community with compassionate hospice care and meaningful veteran-centered programs.

This unique position combines community outreach, relationship building, program coordination, and veteran recognition. You’ll serve as a trusted ambassador within the veteran community while partnering with our clinical, volunteer, foundation, and business development teams to ensure veterans receive the recognition and support they deserve.

What You’ll Do

Build Community Relationships

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Veterans Service Officers (VSOs), VFW, American Legion, DAV, VA hospitals and clinics, CBOCs, Honor Flight organizations, and other veteran-focused groups.
  • Serve as a primary hospice representative within the veteran community.
  • Identify and develop new community partnerships and referral opportunities.
  • Participate in veteran events, networking opportunities, and community programs.

Champion Our American Pride Program

  • Serve as a liaison and active partner in the hospice’s American Pride veteran program.
  • Help develop and implement veteran-focused recognition and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the hospice foundation and internal teams to strengthen veteran programming.
  • Help ensure veteran-specific needs, benefits, and recognition opportunities are addressed.
  • Assist with coordinating Honor Flight participation for eligible hospice patients.

Create Meaningful Moments of Recognition

  • Assist with planning and coordinating veteran-focused events, including Veterans Day and Memorial Day observances.
  • Partner with the Volunteer Department on veteran pinning ceremonies and bedside recognition programs.
  • Support employee recognition initiatives connected to veteran care and service excellence.

Collaborate Across Our Organization

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to support outreach and referral growth.
  • Work closely with Clinical and Social Work teams to support patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with Volunteers on recognition programming.
  • Partner with the Hospice Foundation on community engagement and fundraising initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource to colleagues regarding veteran culture, benefits, and end-of-life considerations.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, marketing, business, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous hospice, healthcare sales, community outreach, or business development experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with veterans or a military background highly desirable.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Event planning and program coordination experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • State-minimum automobile insurance coverage.
Why This Role Matters

This is more than a community outreach position. It’s an opportunity to make sure those who served our country know that their service is remembered and honored.

Every connection you make, every ceremony you help coordinate, and every veteran you advocate for can create a meaningful difference for patients and their families during one of life’s most important journeys.

If you’re passionate about serving others, building meaningful community relationships, and honoring our nation’s veterans, we’d love to hear from you.
