Machine Operator- Altoids Packaging
2nd Shift (2:45pm until 11:15pm Monday through Friday with overtime as needed on Saturday and Sunday)
The Altoids Packaging Operator is responsible for the operation of the Altoids packaging line which includes, scales, tin unloader, tin filler, paper placer, check weighers and cartoner machines, as well as the performance of the entire Altoids Packaging Line. The Altoids Packaging Operator will perform all jobs throughout the packaging line to provide direction and support to all line associates to meet requirements.
The Altoids Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained. The packaging operator will also play a pivotal role in identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects within the packaging room.
Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job:
Basic math and PC skills
Must be able to understand, read, write, and communicate in basic work-related English
Basic literacy skills including the preparation of production and QA documents
High School Diploma or GED
High level of physical dexterity
Preferred:
1 year of manufacturing/machine experience
Essential Functions/Physical requirements:
- frequent lifting/carrying/pushing (1-50 lbs.)
- frequent handling/reaching of various products
- frequent fine finger movements
- frequent standing
What will be your key responsibilities?
· Maintain excellent packaging line efficiency in line with the set plan and escalate any deviation from standard or plan
· Support peers in achieving highest Safety, Quality and Efficiency standards throughout the packing department
· Be responsible for the achievement of GMP packaging requirements
· Ensure cleaning standards are upheld and fulfilled
· Actively participate in Operational processes that support continuous improvement of our business performance
