About the Position
We’re looking for an Alternative Data Strategist who can research and procure alternative datasets. At Jane Street, high-quality data is essential to the work we do.
You will partner closely with traders, researchers, and other internal users to understand what data Jane Street needs, and to turn those needs into datasets we use in production.
You'll also vet external data vendors to understand what it is they’re selling and whether we should be interested, negotiate contract terms and pricing, and carefully manage our ongoing relationships with them. Along the way, you'll work extensively with our Data Engineering and Legal teams.
About You
- Professionally experienced with sourcing, researching, and procuring alternative datasets
- Able to multi-task and context-switch regularly throughout the day
- Able to form strong relationships with internal and external business partners
- Strong written and verbal communicator
- Inquisitive and eager to learn
