Reporting to the Lead Engineer, Operations, the Senior Engineer, Operations owns the technical health and situational awareness of assigned asset(s). This role works closely with field leadership to understand asset performance, identify and manage technical risk, coordinate response to operational issues, and advance the engineering work and investments required to operate safely, reliably, and sustainably.
This is a full-time position based out of our Grande Prairie, Alberta office with a 5-day office-based work model. Regular travel to operating sites is expected to maintain field engagement, support asset health activities, and build strong relationships with site leadership teams.
What You'll DoAsset Health & Technical Response
- Maintain a current understanding of asset performance, design intent, operating constraints, regulatory requirements, reliability concerns, and emerging technical issues.
- Lead technical troubleshooting and response when equipment performance, process safety barriers, asset integrity, or operating conditions are challenged.
- Maintain visibility of significant technical and operational risks across assigned asset(s).
- Proactively identify emerging concerns, ensure risks are clearly understood and prioritized, and drive mitigation actions toward resolution.
- Identify and develop reliability, optimization, and maintenance investment opportunities based on asset condition, operating risk, and business needs.
- Support the Lead Engineer and asset leadership in developing and prioritizing the asset's multi-year capital plan.
- Serve as Operations' trusted engineering contact for assigned asset(s).
- Build strong relationships with field leadership teams and leverage technical support resources to address asset health requirements.
- Provide oversight of Management of Change (MOC) and other technical governance processes.
- Coordinate engineering activities and maintain momentum on technical work supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with the Projects Team to support design reviews, HAZOPs, and other technical assessments.
- Ensure alignment between project development activities and operational requirements.
- Provide technical leadership during process safety and operational events.
- Support incident investigations and resolution of resulting action items.
What You'll BringQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Other engineering disciplines may be considered with relevant experience, particularly Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering.
- Professional designation as P.Eng., P.L. (Eng.), or P.Tech. (Eng.) registered with APEGA.
- Minimum 10 years of oil and gas industry experience.
- Previous employment directly with an oil and gas company is considered an asset.
- Extensive experience in the design, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of midstream gas processing, liquids handling, terminal operations, or related industrial infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of asset performance, equipment reliability, operating constraints, and process safety considerations within operating facilities.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME, API, NACE, and related requirements.
- Experience facilitating and participating in PHAs, HAZOPs, and other structured risk assessments.
- Working knowledge of regulatory, environmental, and process safety requirements relevant to operating assets.
- Familiarity with engineering and operational tools, including: HYSYS and/or ProMax PI Vision and PI Datalink Maximo Microsoft 365 applications
- Energetic, practical, and motivated individual.

- Pragmatic problem solver with sound technical judgment and a bias for action.
