AltaGas - Sr Analyst, Corporate Accounting
We are looking for a passionate and results-driven Senior Analyst to join our Corporate Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in our day-to-day operations and month-end processes.

You Will:

  • Prepare monthly consolidated cash flow statements

  • Handle inter- and intra-segment eliminations

  • Manage intercompany loans and prepare reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly foreign exchange (FX) analysis and consolidated general ledger (GL) reasonability checks

  • Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Perform rotational consolidation tasks during month-end

  • Review assigned monthly journal entries and analyses

  • Prepare quarterly goodwill and impairment tie-outs

  • Prepare quarterly consolidated working capital analysis

  • Manage corporate legal entity accounting, including the preparation of quarterly legal entity equity pickup entries and reconciliation of investment versus equity accounts

  • Oversee the annual Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) true-up process and preparing related disclosures

  • Support various project initiatives

You Have:

  • CPA designation with a minimal of 5 years of relevant accounting experiences, including at least 2 years in Corporate Accounting 

  • Technical knowledge of GAAP (US GAAP preferred), with a working understanding of the energy industry preferred

  • Proficiency with various applications, including ERP systems, BlackLine, Workiva, QuickLaunch, etc

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
