AltaGas - Manager, Digital Business Solutions (Midstream Commercial)

AltaGas is seeking a Manager, Digital Business Solutions (Midstream Commercial) to lead a team supporting end‑to‑end Commercial business activities across the Front, Middle, and Back Offices, including Transportation. In this strategic role, you will act as a digital business partner — driving operational excellence, ensuring stable and effective application sustainment, and advancing modern delivery practices. You will help shape a culture grounded in accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

This role is responsible for the performance, stability, and lifecycle of digital solutions that support Midstream Commercial operations. You will manage business engagement, oversee demand intake and prioritization, and coordinate sustainment delivery across both internal teams and AMS outsourcing partners. You will collaborate with Digital Architecture, Planning, and Program Delivery teams to ensure alignment, seamless project transitions, and maturity of digital capabilities across the Commercial portfolio.

You will:

  • Act as a visible champion of AltaGas’ values, engaging with customers and teams to deliver strong business outcomes

  • Lead technology‑enabled transformation efforts that accelerate value across Midstream Commercial operations.

  • Manage the “run” component of the digital delivery model, ensuring stable and reliable applications across front‑to‑back Commercial workflows.

  • Establish structured alignment processes with Commercial stakeholders to understand strategies, priorities, processes, and digital solution needs.

  • Oversee demand intake and backlog prioritization to ensure resources focus on high‑value and high‑priority activities.

  • Lead delivery of application sustainment initiatives while transparently communicating Digital’s value to business partners.

  • Coordinate outsourcing partner performance, ensuring value realization and strong service quality.

  • Ensure integration with Architecture and Program Delivery for new initiatives and smooth transition to sustainment.

  • Lead application operations support, testing, incident response, and continuous improvement through disciplined root‑cause analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with Digital standards and proactively monitor and mitigate risks across the Commercial application portfolio.

  • Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies and digital capabilities relevant to Commercial operations.

  • Foster a culture of growth, mentorship, and learning across the team.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 7+ years leading digital teams at scale in application or infrastructure operations

  • 3+ years supervisory experience managing technical or digital teams.

  • 3+ years supporting or working directly with Commercial teams, with strong understanding of front/middle/back office processes.

  • Experience supporting technology solutions for Midstream Commercial functions: Trading & Deal Capture, Contracts, Position Management, Scheduling, Logistics/Transportation, Risk, Settlements, and Accounting.

  • Hands-on experience with ETRM platforms (e.g., Allegro, ICE) and Commercial data products, analytics, governance, and decision support.

  • Experience with process automation, AI, or Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in Agile/SCRUM/DevOps and managing outsourcing/vendor relationships.
