About rag & bone
From our origins in New York in 2002, rag & bone was founded on a belief of uncompromising ideals: a commitment to doing things the right way, not the easy way. To making things that are as original as they are timeless. To being true to ourselves, even when that truth sets us apart from the mainstream.

We still believe in the same principles we started with: the easy elegance of classic British tailoring, the authenticity of American workwear, and the originality of our home city, New York. As New Yorkers, community and authenticity have become synonymous with our brand. An inclusive environment at rag & bone upholds our original values by encouraging employee connection and empowering each individual to have a voice on policy, process and collaboration for a more equitable future.
Job Summary:
The Allocator supports the Outlet channel by managing product flow, replenishment, and store-level inventory from initial allocation through end of life. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, this role partners closely with the Senior Buyer and Merchandise Planner to ensure the right product is in the right outlet store at the right time, maximizing sales and gross margin while minimizing aged and excess inventory. This is a strong opportunity for an entry-level professional to deepen their allocation and outlet-specific merchandising expertise.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage purchase orders from initial allocation through end-of-life, including replenishment and consolidation of goods to other stores or channels
  • Manage store inventory levels based on capacity, attributes, seasonality, and selling curves; monitor flow of initial assortments and reorders by classification, delivery group, and style as needed
  • Identify and communicate sales opportunities and stock liabilities by door on a regular basis, ensuring buy quantities and stock levels align with current sales trends and key selling periods
  • Maintain a strong stock position by door on core, seasonal basics, and item programs; partner with the Buying team to monitor sales and stock penetration on key programs, as well as clearance and aging by door
  • Manage basic stock replenishment programs and recommend inter-store transfers to optimize sell-through and clear aged inventory
  • Take ownership of warehouse and aged inventory by door; identify and flag shipping issues that may affect the business
  • Partner with the Merchandise Planner to recap business at the door level and build best-seller/hindsight reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis; communicate and champion the needs of the stores
  • Build strong relationships with the Buying/Merchandise Planning team and stores to understand merchandising strategies and business needs; visit stores at least once a month with the team
  • Partner with Merchandise Planning and Buying to define store attributes and strategies that drive sales and gross margin profitability by door
  • Recommend changes and enhancements to current allocation and replenishment procedures and systems
Requirements:
  • 1–4 years of experience in allocation, replenishment, planning, or merchandising, ideally within a vertical retail channel
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data to drive decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple store groups and deadlines simultaneously
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable partnering across Merchandising, Planning, and Store Operations
  • Understanding of outlet/off-price retail dynamics, including differentiated assortment and pricing strategy, is a plus
