With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.
Job Description
This Algorithm Engineer position belongs to TSMC home team, part of HQ engineering organization for Broad-band Plasma wafer inspection in the Global Product Group (GPG) of KLA Corporation. The charter of the engineering organization is to develop and provide inline monitoring solutions to the semiconductor fabrication industry for detecting and understanding yield limiting defects that impact their cutting-edge devices. TSMC home team will focus on solving/addressing TSMC specific challenges. This position offers a unique opportunity to those who are seeking technical challenges in the following domains: advanced microscopy technology; broadband DUV optical system characterization; high speed high precision motion control; high speed high precision autofocus system; high power broadband DUV light source; light/material interaction; image processing and machine learning algorithms.
Job responsibilities of this position include:
Develop new features, Improve current image processing algorithm to achieve better sensitivity and stability. Analyzing current signal and noise to understand what is the limitation from current algo. Provide new solution prototype and test them in-house and on-site. Provide algorithm technical support for escalations in various of product life cycle phases onsite. Interacting with TSMC business unit, GSS (Global Service Support) and customers to address issues and investigate solutions. Investigating feasibility of advance algorithm for next generation product through collaboration with technology and system architect group. Provide prototype algorithm solution for special customer engagement project at customer site. Working with product system engineering team to define the algorithm performance specification and use it to guide the algorithm design and implementation.
