PSG Team Overview
PIMCO Product Strategists are investment professionals that specialize in a market sector or investment style. They are recognized internally and externally as experts in their area. Strategists use their highly specialized knowledge of financial markets and client demand across institutional and retail channels to lead business opportunities within their sector or investment style – effectively operating as focused global business units within PIMCO. This includes raising capital for new and existing investment solutions and ensuring that PIMCO has the right suite of products to meet evolving client demand and market opportunities. Product Strategist teams typically consist of 3–7 professionals, including senior strategists and junior associates/analysts who support reporting, analytics, and execution.
We are seeking an AI Enablement Lead to drive the adoption of AI across the Product Strategy Group and fundamentally reshape how the function operates. This role is focused on enhancing the full Product Strategist lifecycle – from identifying business opportunities and launching and pricing products, to scaling distribution and client acquisition, to improving marketing content and ongoing client servicing, and reducing lower-value manual work. The objective is not just efficiency, but to improve the quality, speed, and consistency of how Product Strategists execute and engage with clients. The AI Enablement Lead will identify where AI can meaningfully augment each stage of this lifecycle – helping teams better synthesize information, move faster from idea to product, create higher-quality client content at scale, and operate with greater precision. This individual will then work with business stakeholders and Technology team to bring these capabilities into production. The qualified candidate has experience deploying AI tools and workflow solutions at enterprise scale and can operate effectively at the intersection of business, product, and technology. This role requires someone who can define a clear roadmap, build alignment across senior stakeholders, and partner with Technology to deliver solutions that are deeply embedded in day-to-day workflows.
Job Responsibilities
- Own AI enablement across the Product Strategy lifecycle, enhancing how we identify opportunities, launch and distribute products, acquire clients, create content, and service mandates
- Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across the lifecycle
- Develop and drive a clear AI roadmap, including prioritization, sequencing, and business case development, aligned with PSG and firm-wide objectives
- Map and deconstruct Product Strategy workflows to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements in speed, quality, and scalability, with a focus on eliminating repetitive manual work
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating workflow needs into clear, implementation-ready requirements
- Partner closely with Technology and Engineering teams to design, build, test, and deploy production-grade AI solutions
- Drive end-to-end execution, from initial opportunity identification through delivery, rollout, and adoption across the business
- Lead adoption and change management, including stakeholder alignment, training, and embedding new tools into day-to-day workflows
- Establish repeatable patterns, playbooks, and standards to scale successful AI solutions across PSG and adjacent business units
- Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools and platforms, making informed build vs. buy vs. partner decisions
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, quantitative, or related field from an accredited four year institution
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in asset management or financial services is a plus, but not required
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale AI, automation, or productivity tool deployments
- Strong understanding of how to translate business workflows into AI-enabled solutions, including automation and decision-support tools
- Experience working in complex environments with fragmented data and legacy systems, and driving practical solutions despite constraints
- Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering teams while remaining focused on business outcomes
- Track record of driving adoption of new tools and ways of working across non-technical teams
- Strong execution skills – comfortable owning initiatives from concept through delivery
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and modern enterprise tooling ecosystems
Communication Skills and Mindset
- Ability to engage and influence senior, non-technical stakeholders
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business impact
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and bringing structure to loosely defined problems
- Builder/operator mindset, someone who can not only strategize but also execute and deliver
What Success Looks Like
- AI tools are deeply embedded in day-to-day workflows, not siloed experiments
- A clear, repeatable model for AI adoption and workflow transformation is established across the group
- PSG workflows are significantly more automated, streamlined, and scalable
- Associates and Analysts spend materially less time on repetitive tasks
Salary Range: $ 205,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
