ROLE SUMMARYThe Recovery Assistant assists addicts with gaining insight into their addictions and facilitating emotional, cognitive and behavioural changes to ensure ongoing recovery from their addiction. This includes a post-discharge support system.
KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• A shift towards wellbeing and wellness and away from curative, episodic care.
• Ensuring customer centricity is at the centre of all we do, driving greater convenience and integrated, personalised experiences.
• Delivering the best quality and consistency of care.
Administration
• Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
• Write feedback on individual sessions in process notes.
• Prepare the daily billing reports for the Dutch medical aid (CHANGES).
• Ensure completion of surveys, including testimonials prior to departure.
• Assist Co-ordinator with the COPE daily attendance registers required by Head Office for group billing.
Individual sessions
• Provide some additional assistance to clients who are soon to be discharged with their pre-discharge planning.
• Provide containment for new and/or unsettled clients.
• Be visible within the community to both observe and model appropriate behaviour.
• Provide coaching to Phase 3 clients when planning their discharge.
• Assist clients with cooking duty – kitchen exposure.
• Assist with the weekly exposure activities.
• Refer clients to their therapist should they need therapeutic intervention.
Nursing support
• Obtain feedback from and provide feedback to nurses and therapists regarding patients' behaviours.
• Provide guidance and intervene where necessary should clients' behaviour be inappropriate or not in keeping with the clinic's expectations and rules or with recovery.
• Refer clients to nurses or their therapist if they have any concerns regarding their medication and report any knowledge of non-compliance to nurses.
• Filling in for ENAs when requested.
• Supervise the community between groups to both observe behaviour and provide guidance and support.
• Assist nursing team during meals and snacks. Assist clients who have been removed from the main table to a separate table to provide extra support.
• Assist with the activities after meals and snacks.
• Accompany nurses on shopping trips when requested.
• Filling in for ENAs when requested.
• Transport or fetch clients to and from events when required.
• Provide administrative assistance to nursing.
Group facilitation
• Facilitate a weekly 12-step group for each phase.
• Source people to share for Aftercare groups for clients.
