Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant that wants to make the transition to a Senior Financial Analyst role to join our team. They will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting. This position will work closely with senior leadership, delivering insights that enhance operational efficiency and profitability. Strong opportunity for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): (50%)
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes for the company’s logistics operations.
- Develop detailed financial models to support strategic initiatives and capital allocation decisions.
- Analyze financial performance trends and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Support business units and become a subject matter expert. Develop relationships with the leadership teams
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering actionable recommendations to optimize costs and enhance profitability.
Reporting: (20%)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Prepare and analyze monthly budget to actuals variances and provide detailed explanations.
- Put together weekly division forecast and distribute it to commercial leaders
- Present key insights and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
Accounting & Month - end close Support: (30%)
- Balance, analyze and report Gross Profit for various Business Units.
- Prepare Payroll & Labor Actual vs. Plan analysis (Dollars & FTE).
- Prepare monthly financial dashboard and distribute it to executive, functional and commercial leaders.
- Calculate commissions along with Management Incentives and submit to accounting for posting.
Qualification, Skills, and Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- 3+ years of month-end close experience (journal entry accruals/reclasses, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Business Central) and data visualization platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues, demonstrating initiative, mature judgment, and customer service orientation.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of GAAP and all aspects of general accounting.
