.The AF Gateway Operations Specialist is dedicated to providing expertise, supporting the organisation's objectives through the application of specialised knowledge and skills. This role focuses on delivering high quality results in AF Gateway Operations and contributing to strategic initiatives. 
 

This position manages the transportation and compliance of an outbound shipment from pick up to customer billing, ensuring service commitments are achieved and company objectives met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiates the shipment processing and confirms the destination leg routing and tracking events

  • Pays terminal charges and confirms AMS information and customs clearance status

  • Schedules and monitors airport transfers

  • Creates broker arrival notices for internal or external broker

  • Contributes to implementation of department procedures to maximize productivity

  • Assigns tasks as required to internal departments

  • Monitors, assigns, and ensures the resolution of any accounts payable issues within area of responsibility

  • Opening of inbound masters

  • Daily tracking of all inbound shipments

  • Verify all required documents scanned by origin

  • Update TMS with all needed milestones

  • Pay terminal charges

  • Arrange transfer, when needed, to HWL whse or offsite CFS under bond (1F)

  • Issue arrival notice to branch which includes Firmscode, LFD, and any other relevant information

  • Bill relevant charges to hawb level and close mawb

  • Provide exception reporting daily

  • Additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not supervise any direct reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma

  • 1 to 3 years of previous experience in freight forwarding industry preferred

  • Completion of any industry related course is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
