Job Description:

With the development of future Airbus programs accelerating, Airbus UpNext is launching a new demonstrator. This high-stakes R&T flight platform has a dual mission: deliver flight-proven breakthroughs directly to future Airbus programs, and inject game-changing ideas to reshape how Airbus Commercial builds aircraft for the next 30 years.

Based in Toulouse (Saint Martin) with regular travel to Cazaux, this position comes with limited contract (CDI-C) linked to the deliverable of the demo ( estimated end date - end of July 2029), starting ASAP.
You will work within a flat, fast-paced project organization, collaborating closely with the program management team and technical work package leaders. 

The Mission

As the Flight Control System Designer, you will be working within the Overall Systems Design team, and your mission will be:

  • Definition and validation of flight control system functions.

  • Definition of the systems  interfaces and monitoring with the actuators

  • Definition and implementation of Flight Control System specifications and software. 

  • Validation and verification of the Flight Control System software through various tools and models.

  • Contribution to the safety and V&V activities

  • Contribution to the Permit to Fly dossier preparation.

The tasks may evolve during the course of the project, so being flexible is important.

What You’ll Own

  • Flight Control design specification: define and deliver the flight control design specifications

  • Flight Control software: develop and deliver the software updates on time in line with the project requirements

  • Flight Control Software Validation and Verification: Ensure that the software V&V are performed and any problem reports and limitations are identified

You will be working within the Flight control system work package and also very closely with the flight control laws and actuator teams. 

Your Boarding Pass

  • Aeronautical engineer with significant experience in the design of Flight controls system and software development as well as validation and verification of the software.

  • Knowledge of the overall flight control system. 

  • TOOLS: The candidate should be able to use specification tools such as Matlab Simulink.

  • Autonomy, Adaptability, Availability, Accountability

  • English is mandatory

Skills Required
