Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
The On-Air Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for overseeing broadcast schedule completion and execution of schedule changes for the entirety of on-air distribution. The coordinator serves as a direct point of contact between on-air operations, commercial operations, and program operations to ensure that playlists are scheduled properly and completely for air.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintains air ready schedules for play-out across the suite of NBCUniversal cable and broadcast properties, digital and linear, by way of NBCUniversal's proprietary scheduling systems
  • Coordinates the fulfillment of incomplete schedules to ensure we provide a complete 24/7 continuous schedule across all networks and channels
  • Supports the On-Air Scheduling Specialist by assisting with any off hours programming or formatting changes needed to the on air playlist schedule
  • Assigns and applies resources needed for Live events such as external sources, channels, records, and more
  • Understands any and all technical scheduling tools required including but not limited to Webscheduler, OTTO, Wide Orbit, Sintec, and Streetlight
  • Executes contingency scheduling for sports replays such as JIPs, filler programming, and sliding of schedules to bring networks back on time
  • Validates Webscheduler playlists for reliable resource and hardware assignments prior to play out
  • Assists with troubleshooting as needed

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post production role.
  • A solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong computer and technical skills required, especially Microsoft Office products including, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Previous experience with automation preferred
  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills
  • Previous professional experience working with traffic systems or any on-air scheduling system
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple groups/levels in an organization

  • This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Stamford, CT
  • Must be willing and available to work any shift including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of a 24x7/365 operation, with possibility of schedule changes based on business needs and priorities.
