Job Summary:
The Air Jet Texturing Machine Operator is responsible for operating the Air Texturing machines where materials are used in the production of carpet fibers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Place yarn packages on creel and tie into reserve packages
- Remove empty tubes from creel
- Load empty tubes in machine
- Monitor for broken positions and rethread in a timely manner
- Consistently watch lines for any quality issues
- Remove completed packages of air textured yarn and pack yarn on buggies
- Move buggies of completed packages to specified location for pack out
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. up to 6 feet consistently throughout the shift
- Ability to carry a minimum of 40 lbs. up to a distance of 40 feet
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Aptitude to pass a color vision test if needed
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to read and write, do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job but will train
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime when necessary
- All accidents must be reported immediately
- Perform any other duties as assigned
- Must be able to observe and adhere to all PPE rules
- Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job
- Aptitude to pass a color vision test if needed
