Job Description:

We’re one of the world’s largest providers of transportation and logistics services. Our customers range from small and mid-sized companies up to global enterprises.  Our Global Logistics and Distribution business unit provides comprehensive logistics services and warehousing solutions utilizing a global network of distribution centers, innovative technology and supply chain expertise to manage the flow of goods from receiving to storage and order processing to shipment.

Job Summary:

The Air Gateways Manager is responsible for the global movement of air freight in accordance with UPS standards and in compliance with governmental regulations. This position oversees daily Air Gateways operations, ensuring superior service, consistent performance, and innovative logistic solutions. The Air Gateways Manager monitors the departmental budget and actively seeks cost-efficient solutions to reduce operating expenses. This role is responsible for assuring maximum efficiency and utilization of the carrier base to reduce air transportation costs and improve margins for UPS. This position manages supervisors, specialists, and administrative assistants.

Skills/Basic Qualifications: 

• Freight Forwarding Operations Management experience (required). 

• Management experience (required). 

• Expertise in managing a union workforce (required).

• Must currently reside in the same geographic location as the job or be willing to relocate promptly - (required).

Other Criteria:

• Job Grade: 30E - Manager.

• Schedule/typical working hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm / Be flexible.
