An AI Specialist in the Global Public Sector is responsible for designing, developing, and demonstrating artificial intelligence solutions leveraging Salesforce and the AI ecosystem that enhance government services and operations for entities across the globe. This role involves analyzing customer requirements, datasets and evaluating the use of predictive models, GenerativeAI and machine learning algorithms to support data-driven decision-making across departments such as healthcare, transportation, public safety, and social services. The specialist ensures ethical use of AI, adheres to privacy and compliance standards, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and business processes. The resource also provides technical expertise and guidance to policymakers, helping to shape AI strategies that promote efficiency, transparency, and equitable outcomes for the public.

We are looking for motivated technologists to join our extremely talented Global Public Sector Specialist team, which is instrumental to Salesforce's growth to the next level. As an AI Specialist, you will work with our most strategic prospects and customers in a trusted advisor capacity. You will demonstrate and validate how our platform can bring together their digital investments into an application network, which will enable faster change and innovation. The Public Sector sales team will rely on your deep technical expertise and product knowledge throughout the sales cycle. You will be an integral part of the success of both our customers and sales teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Work across multiple customer-facing sales teams and product engineering to improve our product's vision, while also ensuring that regional businesses and organizations continue to be successful.

  • Understand and help establish customer requirements and grow trusted client relationships throughout the product validation stage of the sales lifecycle.

  • Be a technical solutions authority, helping customers and system integrators design and architect AI based solutions and create and drive the use of AI Workshops, Proofs of Concept, and custom demos that align with the customer’s technical and business requirements.

  • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction across assigned sets of accounts in order to secure the technical win.

  • Prioritize customer needs and coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams to help support customer needs and technical visions

These are the core skills you'll need to be successful:

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years software engineer and/or sales engineer experience at SaaS, Open Source, Software Consulting, or Enterprise Software company.

  • Solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models.

  • Strong Foundation in AI/ML concepts including a deep understanding of various AI, GenAI and machine learning methodologies, supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning architectures (neural networks), natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision.

  • Comfortable with LLM Architecture and Functionality including the fundamental architecture of transformer networks, which underpin most modern LLMs. This includes grasping concepts like self-attention mechanisms, encoder-decoder structures, and the process of how these models learn from vast amounts of text data to generate coherent and contextually relevant output. They should also be familiar with different model variations and their strengths and weaknesses (e.g., GPT, BERT, T5).

  • Great listener and communicator.

  • Confident leading discussions with Product Managers, Developers, Engineers, and Executives.

  • Creative problem solver as an individual and within a team setting..

  • Thrive working in a high profile, fast-paced, collaborative culture.

  • Excellent presentation abilities and composure in front of all levels of technical and business audiences.

Bonus points:

  • Salesforce development and architecture experience.

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator.

  • Salesforce AI Associate

  • Proficiency in AI/ML development, such as Python, and familiar with relevant libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and cloud-based AI platforms (e.g., AWS AI, Google Cloud AI Platform, Azure Machine Learning).

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $168,420 to $225,260.For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $153,090 to $204,750.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $168,420 to $225,260.

For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $168,420 to $225,260.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
