Wells Fargo is seeking an AI Risk and Governance Lead to join the Innovation Product team. This role leads governance and risk support within the Innovation Hub Command Center for AI initiatives across Consumer Banking and Lending Operations. The Lead Business Execution Consultant will serve as a central coordination point across AI Product, AI Centers of Excellence (COEs), Legal, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Technology teams to simplify and operationalize AI governance, establish consistent standards, and support efficient delivery of AI initiatives.
This role will help integrate product and risk disciplines to create a seamless governance and delivery model that balances responsible risk management with innovation. The Lead will establish governance structures, operating rhythms, and process improvement capabilities that support AI product teams in navigating governance requirements, AI model oversight, ongoing risk management, and audit activities. The goal is to reduce risk, increase consistency, and accelerate the responsible adoption of AI across the organization. Your work will directly align with Wells Fargo's mission to innovate and enhance the employee and customer experience using AI technology.
In this role, you will:
  • Strategize, plan, and execute a variety of governance programs, services, and initiatives supporting AI adoption across functions
  • Drive thought leadership on AI governance and lead across AI Product, partnering with AI Centers of Excellence (COEs), Legal, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Technology teams to drive alignment and execution
  • Establish and maintain governance structures, operating rhythms, and delivery frameworks that support AI product teams and business stakeholders
  • Simplify, operationalize, and continuously improve governance processes supporting AI initiatives and emerging technologies to enhance delivery speed and the overall experience for stakeholders navigating AI governance requirements
  • Develop reporting, governance metrics, and executive communications that provide transparency into risks, approvals, delivery progress, and operational effectiveness
  • Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate
  • Review strategic approaches and effectiveness of support function and business performance
  • Creatively approach complex issues and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations
  • Support ongoing governance, audit, risk management, and AI model oversight activities, including issue remediation and readiness efforts
  • Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring a solid understanding of governance, risk, operational processes, and business objectives; facilitate decision making and issue resolution
  • Collaborate and consult with members across the Product and Transformation team to drive strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with members of the Business Execution team and team leaders to drive strategic initiatives
  • Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives
  • Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations
  • Influence, guide and lead less experienced Strategy and Execution staff within the group
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Business Execution, Planning, Process Improvement, or related experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Risk, Governance, Controls, Regulatory, Audit, or Oversight experience related to products, processes, operational programs, data, models, and/or business initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives within financial services, FinTech, consulting or consumer organizations

  • Experience designing, implementing, or maturing governance frameworks, operating models, or delivery governance structures in large enterprise environments
  • Experience supporting AI, automation, innovation, digital transformation, or emerging technology initiatives
  • Strong experience collaborating with Product, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Technology, and business stakeholders to deliver governance and process improvement outcomes
  • Ability to navigate a complex and transforming enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex processes, improve operational efficiency, and establish sustainable governance practices
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • End-user experience focused; enables intuitive, valuable solutions that align with customer and employee needs

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$119,000.00 - $187,000.00
