Role Summary
The AI Portfolio, Governance & Value Realization Lead will operate the management system for the Global Distribution AI portfolio - helping ensure GD identifies the highest-value AI opportunities, makes deliberate resource-allocation decisions, removes blockers, and measures realized business impact.
Reporting to the Director, AI Enablement & Ecosystem, this role will serve as the central point of coordination for AI intake, portfolio visibility, prioritization, governance, executive reporting, and value realization across Global Distribution.
The role will work across transformational AI products, targeted workflow interventions, Associate-built solutions, and scaled enablement initiatives. It will not own delivery of the initiatives; instead, it will establish the common discipline and transparency required to drive prioritization, assess level of effort required, and measure impact and outcomes.
Responsibilities
AI Intake & Portfolio Management:
- Own and continuously improve the GD AI intake process, making it easy for Associates and leaders to surface AI opportunities.
- Structure incoming opportunities to clarify the business problem, potential value, sponsorship, readiness, feasibility, and intended outcomes.
- Maintain a single, transparent view of the GD AI opportunity backlog and active portfolio across delivery models.
- Coordinate initial triage and routing of opportunities to the appropriate path, including self-service enablement, Associate-built reusable solutions, targeted workflow interventions, transformational AI products, or future consideration.
Prioritization & Resource Allocation:
- Develop fact-based recommendations for sequencing AI opportunities using agreed criteria such as potential business value, speed to impact, readiness, feasibility, reuse, sponsorship, and learning value.
- Facilitate recurring portfolio reviews with AI leaders and senior business stakeholders.
- Track capacity and dependencies across the portfolio and identify areas where resources are constrained or misaligned.
- Maintain clear records of major portfolio decisions, changes in priority, and rationale.
Governance & Executive Reporting:
- Develop materials and insights for GD AI governance forums, including Steering Committee and other senior leadership discussions.
- Maintain an active view of key blockers, dependencies, decisions, accountable owners, and target resolution dates.
- Produce concise recurring portfolio updates that communicate progress, shipped capabilities, business outcomes, risks, and near-term priorities.
- Partner with the Head of GD AI Strategy & Transformation and broader team to communicate the GD AI story with evidence, clarity, and consistency.
Value Realization & Performance Measurement:
- Establish common standards for defining business outcomes, baselines, KPIs, adoption measures, and value-realization expectations across the AI portfolio.
- Partner with delivery owners and business sponsors to ensure appropriate success measures are established before implementation.
- Coordinate post-launch value reviews, including agreed 30- and 60-day checks where appropriate.
- Maintain an aggregated view of expected and realized value, including productivity, capacity, cost, quality, revenue/client outcomes, adoption, and other relevant measures.
- Identify initiatives where realized value is diverging from expectations and surface recommendations for intervention, refinement, scaling, or retirement.
Operating Discipline & Continuous Improvement:
- Develop practical templates, tools, routines, and reporting mechanisms that improve portfolio transparency without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Identify recurring delivery blockers or patterns across initiatives and escalate opportunities for systemic resolution.
- Continuously improve portfolio governance as GD's AI maturity and volume of activity increase.
- Build strong working relationships across AI Product Managers, Implementation Pods, business functions, Technology, Data, Risk, and Finance.
Mindset
- Analytical, structured, and comfortable creating clarity from incomplete information.
- High standards for evidence and business value without allowing measurement to become bureaucracy.
- Strong judgment and ability to distinguish important signals from noise.
- Trusted operator who follows through consistently and communicates clearly with senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, strategy, analytics, information systems, or a related field and 8+ years of related experience.
- Experience in strategy, transformation, management consulting, product operations, portfolio management, business analysis, or related roles.
