The Role
Lead and coach a team of AEs and BDRs to exceed enterprise SaaS sales targets. Drive AI-first GTM by embedding AI across research, prospecting, messaging, forecasting, and coaching. Own revenue, quotas, forecasting, hiring, and cross-functional GTM integration while building repeatable AI-assisted sales workflows and standards.
Summary Generated by Built In

As a Sales Manager, you will lead a team of Account Executives and Business Development Representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets. You will develop and execute strategic sales plans, deliver value and insight to our partners, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth. The role demands leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles.

You will also lead from the front on AI adoption. We expect this manager to embed AI into the daily workflow of the team and into our go-to-market motion, so that research, prospecting, messaging, forecasting, and coaching all move faster and land better than they would with headcount alone. AI fluency here is a requirement of the job, not a bonus qualification.

Sales Leadership

  • Coach team members on sales acumen, product positioning, and negotiation
  • Deploy process improvements and implement systems that drive efficiency and repeatability at every stage of the funnel
  • Inspire greatness through servant leadership — attack challenges head-on and treat shared learning, not self-promotion, as the best outcome
  • Support the sales team in prospect meetings, presentations, and negotiations
  • Identify cohorts of existing partners and prospects to focus sales efforts against
  • Partner with the GM, Reputation Management, to develop go-to-market strategies against new and legacy cohorts

AI-Enabled Go-To-Market

  • Own AI adoption for the sales organization. Set the expectation that AI is part of how the team works, not an optional side tool, and hold the bar on quality of output
  • Build AI-assisted workflows across the funnel — account and industry research, ICP scoring and cohort building, prospect enrichment, call and email prep, personalized outreach at scale, objection handling, and proposal drafting.
  • Compress the time from list to first meeting. Automate tier-one research and messaging so reps spend their hours in conversations rather than in tabs
  • Turn conversation data into plays. Deploy AI against call recordings, email threads, and CRM data to surface deal risk, coaching moments, and win/loss patterns, then convert those patterns into repeatable plays for the team.
  • Set the standards. Establish prompt libraries, templates, and review standards so AI output is consistent, on-brand, and accurate — and never reaches a partner unreviewed
  • Integrate the GTM stack. Partner with Marketing, RevOps, and Product on AI-driven lead scoring, routing, forecasting, and reporting, so sales, marketing, and product motions run off the same signals
  • Pilot with rigor. Evaluate new AI tooling against a clear hypothesis and success metric; kill what doesn't produce lift and scale what does
  • Coach AI judgment. Teach reps what to delegate to a model, what to never delegate, and how to verify before anything reaches a customer

Team Development

  • Embody inclusive, servant leadership and coach individuals at all levels to success Hire, mentor, and develop individuals who bring intellectual curiosity, resilience, and resourcefulness to their roles
  • Provide feedback and focus to both your Account Executives and your BDRs looking to grow into the AE role
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring and development to ensure a diverse team that exceeds expectations.

Revenue Ownership

  • Understand and own every stage of the sales funnel, analyzing data to find shortcomings and recommend improvements for down-funnel impact
  • Design and execute monthly and quarterly sales plans
  • Conduct individual and team-wide weekly forecast reviews, and lead quarterly progress review sessions
  • Own your team's monthly and quarterly quota, designing and deploying the strategies to achieve it
  • Manage productivity, opportunities, and quality to ensure the team meets or exceeds established goals and delivers a delightful customer experience

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of successful sales management experience in an enterprise SaaS environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years enterprise sales or account management experience in a fast-paced, technical environment
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in digital marketing and/or SAAS sales into marketing departments
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing a high volume customer pipeline
  • Extensive experience negotiating contracts and managing legal review through to execution
  • Highly proficient in building/modeling compensation structures, revenue forecasting and other revenue operation processes in excel.
  • Extensive experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and various data analytics platforms
  • General knowledge of SEO and search engines

AI & GTM Fluency

  • Hands-on use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or similar) in a sales or GTM context — not just familiarity, but documented examples of workflows you built and the results they drove
  • Experience integrating AI into the GTM stack alongside CRM, sales engagement, and enrichment tooling — Salesforce, Outreach or Salesloft, Gong or Chorus, Clay, ZoomInfo, Apollo or similar
  • Ability to write and iterate on effective prompts, and to teach others to do the same
  • Sound judgment on AI limitations — data privacy, hallucination risk, brand voice, and when human review is non-negotiable
