About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to begin a career in AI/ML engineering, working within a dynamic team that values learning and growth. The successful candidate will contribute to the early stages of AI/ML project lifecycles, gaining hands-on experience with real-world data and cutting-edge technologies. This position provides a structured environment for developing core competencies in machine learning and data science, with direct guidance from experienced professionals.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in the development and implementation of basic machine learning algorithms and models under direct supervision, with opportunities to learn about deep learning concepts.

  • Contribute to data collection, preprocessing, and feature engineering tasks for AI/ML projects, ensuring data readiness and beginning to understand data coverage and quality for industry use cases.

  • Perform routine testing, debugging, and documentation of ML code and systems to maintain quality and functionality.

  • Support the integration of ML models into existing applications, ensuring adherence to established procedures and guidelines, and learning basic MLOps practices like containerization and monitoring.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and data scientists, translating ambiguous needs into clear, initial ML tasks and learning best practices in ML development.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field. Trimble's Professional ladder typically requires four or more years of formal education.

  • Conceptual knowledge of machine learning theories, practices, and procedures, demonstrating an understanding of core ML concepts and foundational deep learning concepts.

  • Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (e.g., Python) with a focus on data manipulation and basic algorithm implementation, and familiarity with libraries like NumPy, pandas, or scikit-learn.

  • Understanding of fundamental data structures and basic data modeling concepts, crucial for efficient code development.

  • Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing problems of limited scope, with a focus on obtaining readily available answers.
