We are looking for an AI Lead to help shape this work. As the the AI Lead you will own the direction and growth of our technology team, building the systems that carry our internal delivery, elevating the digital platform through which we serve clients across markets, and turning our commitment to blended intelligence into working technology.
This is a leadership role that will set technical direction, architecture, and standards, and you will stay close enough to the work to be credible in it. You will hire, mentor, and grow a team of tech specialists, and you will sit at the table where commercial, product, and research decisions are made. Furthermore, you approach work with independence, structure, and creativity. All with the purpose of realizing human potential and growing our global business.
AI adoption at Voluntās is not a technology initiative. It is a strategic commitment rooted in our purpose. Over the coming year we are systematically redesigning repetitive workflows, elevating AI literacy to a baseline capability, and structuring products for advanced use. You will lead the engineering side of that agenda, with the discipline that every deliverable carries named human responsibility, and that AI-generated output is always an input to reasoning, never a substitute for contextual understanding.

- 10-12 years of hands-on experience building and shipping software, including at least 4-5 years leading and growing engineering teams.
- A master’s degree in (M.Tech, MCA, MCS, or similar) is an advantage.
- Deep full-stack fluency, Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, with a front-end framework such as ReactJS and a back-end framework such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Proven experience owning platform architecture end to end: data models, APIs, integrations, authentication, multi-tenancy, and client-facing delivery at scale.
- Strong command of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containerization, testing, and monitoring, you have taken systems from prototype to production and kept them healthy there.
- Solid experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and with the data pipelines that feed analytics, reporting, and dashboards.
- Hands-on experience applying LLMs in production: prompt and context design, embeddings, semantic search and RAG, evaluation, and the cost, latency, and reliability trade-offs that come with them.
- Familiarity with LLM application frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex, and with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code (CLI), Codex, or similar.
- Good understanding of NLP, topic modelling, and text analytics as applied to qualitative and quantitative research data.
- Sound judgement on security, privacy, and data protection , particularly where employee, survey, and client data is concerned.
- Good experience with data visualization toolkits and an eye for how insight is presented, not only computed.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to hold a serious conversation with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in international, cross-functional, and distributed teams.

- Technology direction. Own Voluntās’ technology strategy and roadmap and grow the tech division into a capability the firm can scale.
- Internal systems. Design and build the internal tools and workflows that make delivery lighter, removing repetitive and heavy work that does not require human judgment, so capacity is freed for advisory, research, and product innovation.
- Blended intelligence. Translate our Blended Intelligence Commitment into a concrete engineering agenda: AI-enabled components visible in the delivery model, selected products structured for advanced use, and clear standards for responsible use.
- Team leadership. Hire, mentor, and grow a team of engineers; set the bar for code quality, review, documentation, and technical craft; and build the career paths that keep good people here.
- Delivery partnership. Work alongside consultants, researchers, and product owners to turn engagement needs into working software.
- Standards and governance. Define and enforce development guidelines, security and data protection practices, and the ethical and data standards that remain non-negotiable.
- Commercial contribution. Contribute to positioning our digital and AI-enabled capabilities in client engagements and help shape the offerings and service components that grow out of them.
- Build versus buy. Evaluate emerging tools, frameworks, and partners, and make clear-eyed decisions about what we build ourselves and what we adopt.
- AI literacy. Raise the technical and AI literacy of the wider firm through mentoring, training, internal enablement, and practical demonstration.
- A mandate to further build a technology team, not to inherit one.
