AI & IT Consultant
Role Mission
AI is moving fast. Our customers are moving faster. Your job is to keep up with both.
As Clearbridge's AI & IT Consultant, you help customers cut through the noise and walk away with a clear, practical path forward — one that connects real business problems to real solutions. But this isn't a role where you build a roadmap in January and check in at year-end. The landscape shifts weekly. A tool that didn't exist last quarter might be the right answer today. You stay current, you stay sharp, and you bring that clarity to every customer conversation.
Internally, you're the person who looks at how the business runs and asks: could AI fix this? When the answer is yes, you move quickly and make it happen.
This role sits at the intersection of customer trust and internal innovation — and in a space where the ground is constantly shifting, that requires someone who's energized by change, not slowed down by it.
Responsibilities
Customer-Facing AI Advisory
- Conduct discovery conversations with customers to understand their business goals, pain points, and current technology landscape.
- Assess AI readiness and identify high-impact opportunities across automation, workflow optimization, and data utilization.
- Develop clear, actionable AI adoption roadmaps tied to measurable business outcomes and ROI; and be ready to revisit them as new tools, risks, or priorities emerge.
- Guide customers through responsible AI usage, governance considerations, and risk awareness.
- Support pilot implementations and phased rollouts, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the process.
- Translate complex AI capabilities into plain business language that executives and frontline teams can both act on.
Internal AI Enablement
- Continuously review internal workflows with fresh eyes, not just quarterly — because inefficiencies don't wait, and neither do better tools.
- Stay ahead of the AI tool ecosystem well enough to know when it's time to swap something out for something better.
- Recommend, implement, and optimize AI tools across service delivery, documentation, reporting, and team workflows — and iterate when they fall short.
- Establish internal AI guidelines that are practical and adaptable, not rigid frameworks that go stale in six months.
- Train internal team members to think flexibly about AI in their roles, not just follow a fixed playbook.
- Track measurable impact and use those insights to inform what comes next.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers and Solutions Engineers to ensure customer recommendations are technically feasible and scoped appropriately.
- Collaborate with Sales to spot and qualify consulting opportunities emerging from customer AI conversations.
- Document work accurately to support billing, reporting, and the kind of institutional learning that helps the whole team adapt faster
Skills and Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years in IT consulting or working in a direct consulting capacity -- advising clients, scoping solutions, and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Deep, hands-on proficiency with AI tools, automation platforms, and productivity systems. This means you have built with them, deployed them, and optimized them, not just evaluated them.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, workflow automation tools, and collaboration platforms.
- Ability to evaluate AI use cases through a business lens, weighing ROI, risk, feasibility, and timing.
- Experience presenting recommendations to leadership teams or business owners in clear, non-technical language.
- Strong analytical thinking paired with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field -- or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Preferred
- Experience in or alongside an MSP or internal IT support environment.
- Industry exposure in manufacturing, transportation, construction, or healthcare.
- Familiarity with service desk operations or ticketing workflows.
- Demonstrated experience running AI pilots — including knowing when to pivot or shut one down
Who You Are
You don't need perfect information to move forward. You know how to make a good call with what you have, stay open to being wrong, and adjust without drama. You're the kind of person who reads the release notes, tests the new tool before the customer asks about it, and shows up to a meeting ready to say "actually, there's something better now."
You're comfortable sitting with a customer who has no idea where to start with AI and leaving them feeling clear and confident. You're equally comfortable scrapping a recommendation because the space moved and there's a better answer now. You communicate with confidence but without ego — and you know the best solutions are built on listening, not assumptions, and updated as reality changes.
A note on AI proficiency: We will be evaluating this through a practical assessment as part of the hiring process. Candidates should be prepared to walk through AI tools they have worked with, problems they have solved, and outcomes they have driven.
