We’re looking for a hands-on problem solver and forward thinker who’s excited to shape how AI transforms the way we work. The AI Innovation Engineer will take the lead in bringing our 4 + 1 AI Strategy to life—building tools, testing ideas, and turning business challenges into practical, measurable solutions.
This role is perfect for someone who loves to experiment, collaborate, and deliver outcomes that truly make a difference. Sound like you? Let’s get started.
- Create AI solutions the business uses: agents, skills, retrieval, documentation and automation. Some you build directly; some you shape alongside partners and vendors who build with us.
Work side by side with company experts across the divisions, turning their hard problems into practical AI solutions.
Evaluate and integrate modern AI tooling: track what is new, run quick trials, and bring the tools that earn their place into how the team and the divisions work.
Enable others: set and share best practices, review work, and coach the division-embedded people creating their own AI solutions.
- Roughly 3–5 years of software or data engineering experience, with 1–3 years of hands-on AI/LLM work. Strong recent graduates with a real portfolio of AI work are encouraged to apply.
- Hands-on AI engineering: LLM applications, retrieval, agents, prompt and tool design, evaluation. You deliver in production, not just prototype.
- Exposure to software and data engineering fundamentals: Python, APIs, data handling, version control, production discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication. You can explain your work to a non-engineer, document it so others can use it, and walk a team through doing it themselves.
- You enjoy working alongside other people and raising their level. This seat partners with the divisions and enables others, so that has to be something you like, not tolerate.
- Pragmatism: you know when to build, when to use a vendor solution, and when good-enough is enough.
- Demonstrate and uphold Power Design’s core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth.
This is your chance to sit at the intersection of technology, data, and innovation—helping Power Design push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI. You’ll work with smart, motivated people who are passionate about using technology to make construction smarter, safer, and more connected.
At Power Design, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
