We are a group of machine learning scientists and software engineers who love keeping up with the latest ML research, fostering a collaborative and creative workplace, and solving challenging problems. Over the past several years, we have developed data-driven product features, leveraging a range of model architectures from tree-based models to state-of-the-art transformers.
We are launching an initiative in Cork, Ireland to work on impactful projects and product applying state of the art AI in support of Proofpoint’s Human Centric Security focus. We are looking for talented and motivated individuals to join this new team.

About the Role
As a Privacy AI Engineer at Proofpoint, you will be instrumental in developing our Privacy Attested AI Platform, a cutting-edge system that ensures data privacy while enabling advanced AI model training. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, machine learning, and security, ensuring that sensitive data remains confidential while still being leveraged for AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.
We are hiring for multiple experience levels and encourage candidates from junior to senior to apply.
Responsibilities
Design and implement privacy-preserving AI techniques to protect sensitive data.
Build scalable and compliant AI infrastructure that aligns with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations.
Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to integrate privacy-focused architectures into large-scale AI models.
Work closely with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) to deploy secure AI workflows in a cloud environment.
Stay up to date with the latest research in privacy-enhancing technologies and AI security.
Qualifications
Expertise in building public cloud infrastructure, utilizing tools such as Terraform
Familiarity with Linux containers and orchestration systems such as Kubernetes
Strong Python skills for both scripting and application development.
Knowledge of data security, encryption protocols, and cryptographic techniques.
Familiarity with cloud-based AI model training and secure distributed computing.
Understanding of regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, AI Act, etc.) related to AI and data security.
Preferred Qualifications (Senior-Level Candidates):
Experience with privacy-preserving AI techniques (federated learning, differential privacy, homomorphic encryption, secure enclaves).
Strong background in security topics such as encryption, identity management, and networking..
Understanding of threat models in AI security and adversarial machine learning.
