About the Role
Unilever is scaling the responsible use of AI across its global enterprise. This role is responsible for supporting the development, operationalisation, and adoption of AI governance capabilities that enable teams to register, assess, and monitor use cases with appropriate oversight and accountability.
The successful candidate will be a structured and analytically rigorous professional with the ability to work effectively across technology, product, business, and governance functions.
The role is core to Unilever AI strategy will involve direct engagement with AI governance areas (legal, cyber, privacy, finance & procurement), GRC platforms and workflows, encompassing use case intake, risk triage, assessment, assurance tracking, evidence capture, and adoption metrics.
Prior experience in AI risk, responsible AI, assurance, technology controls, or regulatory compliance would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Support the product roadmap for Unilever's AI governance platform, ensuring that platform capabilities remain practical, scalable, and aligned to evolving business requirements.
Translate business and user requirements into structured platform improvements, workflow enhancements, user stories, and adoption priorities.
Collaborate with product, technology, privacy, legal, cybersecurity, and business teams to embed AI governance into relevant processes and decision points across the organisation.
Drive improvements across AI use case intake, risk triage, assessment, assurance workflow, evidence capture, and lifecycle monitoring.
Identify and implement opportunities to simplify and automate governance processes, enabling teams to progress AI initiatives efficiently while maintaining appropriate oversight and institutional trust.
Monitor platform adoption, usage patterns, cycle time, throughput, and first-time-right indicators, and translate data-driven insights into actionable improvement recommendations.
Develop and maintain clear communications, guidance materials, training resources, and stakeholder updates to support consistent and effective platform usage.
Maintain current knowledge of AI trends, AI/ML delivery practices, responsible AI standards, and emerging regulatory developments, and translate relevant implications into business-aligned recommendations.
Candidate Profile
A strong academic background with 5+ years of relevant professional experience in product management, consulting, technology delivery, transformation, risk, or governance-related disciplines.
Well versed with the latest technologies in AI with working knowledge of AI and the AI/ML delivery lifecycle, including the development, deployment, risk assessment, and monitoring of AI solutions within an enterprise context.
Experience in building & deploying agents to solve business problems.
Familiarity with product management practices, including requirements definition, workflow design, backlog prioritisation, user story development, adoption planning, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work with platform data and operational metrics to identify adoption gaps, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Strong problem-solving capability, a high degree of personal ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to convert ambiguity into structured and actionable outcomes.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and engage credibly with senior stakeholders.
Proven ability to operate across functions and influence stakeholders effectively without direct line authority.
Prior experience in responsible AI, AI risk, technology risk, assurance, privacy, cybersecurity, audit, or regulatory compliance would be considered an advantage.
Experience in Technology or Cyber Risk management would be a preferred and added advantage.
