Requirements

Mission:

Sidetrade is launching a brand-new, high-impact engineering initiative to deploy internal autonomous agents across the organisation. These agents will automate high-volume workflows and fundamentally change how teams operate across every business function, including Customer Success, Finance, Product, Professional Services, Marketing, Communications, Sales, and Operations.

As AI Engineering Lead, you own this initiative end to end. You are accountable for defining the vision, shaping the roadmap, and driving delivery across multiple agentic initiatives in parallel. You will prioritise use cases based on business impact, align senior stakeholders across functions, and ensure agents are delivered, adopted, and producing measurable results.

You act as the single point of ownership between business leaders, AI Engineers, and executive sponsors. This is a foundational role where you establish how internal AI products are framed, governed, delivered, and scaled, turning emerging AI capabilities into repeatable operational leverage.

This is a rare greenfield opportunity to lead a company-wide applied AI program with direct impact on productivity, execution speed, and decision quality. You will combine product leadership, program execution, and technical fluency to shape how Sidetrade operationalises AI in a fast-paced B2B SaaS environment, with systems that teams rely on every day and leadership can clearly measure.

What you'll be doing:

Own the internal autonomous agents program

  • Own the roadmap, scope, and delivery of all internal agent initiatives across department.
  • Structure the program into clear projects with timelines, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics
  • Ensure consistent delivery standards across multiple agent use case

Partner with business leaders to define high-impact use cases

  • Work closely with department heads and business owners to identify automation opportunities
  • Translate business needs into clear problem statements, priorities, and success criteria
  • Ensure use cases are realistic, valuable, and aligned with company objectives

Lead delivery with AI Engineers

  • Manage and coordinate a team of AI Engineers building internal agents
  • Define priorities, sequence work, and unblock execution
  • Act as the interface between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders

Ensure adoption and measurable impact

  • Define KPIs and ROI expectations for each agent initiative
  • Track delivery progress, adoption, and operational impact
  • Drive change management to ensure agents are actually used by teams

Coordinate cross-functionally

  • Align with Engineering, IT, Security, Data, and Ops where needed
  • Anticipate risks related to data access, tooling, dependencies, or timelines
  • Ensure smooth communication and decision-making across teams

Establish standards and governance

  • Define how agent projects are documented, prioritised, reviewed, and validated
  • Bring structure and clarity to a fast-moving, innovative environment
  • Help leadership maintain visibility on progress, risks, and outcomes

What You'll Need to be Successful:

Core Skills (Must-Have)

  • Proven experience in program management, product ownership, or PMO roles delivering complex technical initiatives
  • Strong background working with engineering teams on AI, data, or software products
  • Experience delivering projects in a B2B SaaS, tech, or AI-driven environmen
  • Ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives with different stakeholders and priorities
  • Strong execution mindset: planning, prioritisation, delivery tracking, and risk management
  • Comfort working with technical concepts (AI, automation, APIs, systems) without needing to code
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and business audiences

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing AI, automation, or data-driven initiatives
  • Background in internal tools, productivity platforms, or operational transformation
  • Exposure to agentic AI, workflow automation, or applied AI projects
  • Experience working in fast-paced, scaling organisations
  • Familiarity with Agile, hybrid delivery models, or product-led delivery
