Valmont Industries is a global leader in infrastructure and manufacturing, with over 12,000 employees worldwide. The Valmont AI Group, based in Israel, serves as a central hub for designing and delivering advanced AI-powered solutions that drive operational excellence across the organization. The group focuses on building practical, high-impact AI systems and intelligent agents that improve core business processes, including supply chain optimization, factory scheduling, production planning, and process automation.

We are looking for a Principal AI Engineer / Senior Data Scientist to take a leading role in designing and delivering advanced algorithms and AI agent-based systems across Valmont. This is not a pure research position. The role requires strong algorithmic and data science expertise combined with end-to-end ownership from problem discovery through production deployment.

A well-rounded AI professional who combines strong technical depth with business understanding; Ownership-driven and collaborative, with the ability to lead initiatives end-to-end in cross-functional environments; Comfortable working in dynamic, multi-threaded problem spaces, balancing multiple moving parts and priorities.  You will work on real, high-impact problems, see your solutions adopted at scale, and help shape how AI is applied across a large organization.

Essential Functions: 
•    Own AI-driven initiatives end-to-end
•    Design and implement advanced algorithms and AI agents
•    Collaborate with software engineers and business stakeholders
•    Translate business challenges into AI solutions
•    Take models from prototype to production
•    Continuously improve deployed solutions

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate
•    B.Sc. in Computer Science, Physics or related field (M.Sc. – Advantage)
•    5+ years of experience in data science or applied research
•    Strong Python experience, including hands-on experience with Pandas, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch (advantage)
•    Excellent communication skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
•    Experience with Generative AI models, foundational models, and related concepts – Advantage

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

•    Experience leading cross-functional AI projects in enterprise environments
•    Experience deploying AI solutions at scale in production systems
