AI Engineer I

About the Role:
The AI Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the AI-driven solutions at AIO. As part of our agile and dynamic R&D team, you will focus on the design, development, and deployment of state-of-the-art machine learning models, with an emphasis on computer vision and large language models (LLMs). You will report directly to the Head of AI and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative product features from concept to production. Our team structure promotes open communication, innovative thinking, and a collaborative working environment to solve complex challenges in the tech industry.

What will be your responsibilities?
• Design and implement machine learning models, with a focus on Core Deep Learning and NLP.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into our platform.
• Optimise object detection, segmentation, and recognition algorithms for real-world applications.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support model training and deployment.
• Ensure model reliability and performance through rigorous testing and validation.
• Drive innovation by contributing to patent creation and academic publications.
• Stay abreast of the latest AI research to keep our solutions at the cutting edge.

What are we looking for, and what does it require to be the right fit for this role?
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field with a strong emphasis on both NLP and Computer Vision.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in machine learning with proven expertise in NLP and ML, with familiarity in packages and frameworks such as spaCy, NLTK, SciPy, etc.
• Strong foundation in speech recognition, text processing, feature extraction, and sequence modelling.
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch, with a track record of developing, optimising, and deploying machine learning models in both NLP and Computer Vision.
• Ability to design computer vision models from scratch to solve novel problems, supported by proficiency in libraries such as OpenCV.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to transform complex requirements into implementable solutions.
• A team player mindset and excellent communication skills, suited for a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
