Data is central to the Aladdin platform, differentiating us through our ability to consume, store, analyze, and gain insights from it.
The Aladdin Data team maintains a pioneering data platform that delivers high-quality data to users, including investors, operations staff, data scientists, and engineers. Our aim is to provide consistent, high-quality data while evolving our platform to support the firm's growth. We build high-performance data pipelines, enable data discovery and consumption, and continually enhance our data storage capabilities.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in building our next-generation Data & AI platform. In this role, you will work on building AI-driven platform designed for large scale document extraction. Additionally, you will transform existing workflows by integrating cutting-edge large language models, enabling scalable and intelligent automation.
Responsibilities
- Architect and Develop Cutting-Edge Solutions: Design and implement comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for the Data & AI platform, delivering seamless product experiences.
- Integrate Generative AI into Workflows: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed generative AI capabilities into existing workflows.
- Develop High-Performance APIs: Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient API components that power document extraction systems.
- Write Clear, Comprehensive Technical Documentation: Produce detailed, easy-to-understand technical documentation to support developers, stakeholders, and end-users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. A strong academic background with coursework in data structures, algorithms, and software development is preferred.
- Have 3+ years of software engineering industry experience
- Proficiency in building backend using technologies such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure)
- Experience with AI/ML systems or large language models
- Have hands-on experience working with large language models and prompt engineering

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
