About the Role:
We are seeking an AI Enablement Lead to drive the practical application of AI across multiple areas of the firm as part of a focused, high-impact AI Tiger Team. This role is centered on hands-on identification, prototyping, and delivery of AI-enabled workflow solutions that improve how work gets done across a range of business areas, such as Public Finance, Compliance, and Operations.
Working closely with business leaders, end users, and IT partners, this individual will move across teams to identify opportunities, build solutions, and scale what works. Success in this role will come from delivering repeatable solutions that can be adapted and applied across different parts of the firm.
The role requires balancing experimentation with focus, ensuring efforts translate into practical outcomes that improve efficiency and effectiveness. This role is highly collaborative and in-person, requiring regular engagement with teams across the firm. The individual will report to the Senior Manager of IT Strategy & Transformation and will be based in our downtown Milwaukee office.
Baird is an employee-owned firm with a long-standing culture of collaboration, partnership, and long-term thinking. That model allows us to move quickly, work directly across teams, and focus on building solutions that are practical, trusted, and actually used.
The Impact You’ll Make:
Hands-On AI Enablement & Delivery
Work across business areas to identify, build, test, and scale AI-enabled workflow solutions
Personally prototype and deliver solutions using tools within the Microsoft ecosystem, including M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, ChatGPT, Claude, and agent-based AI frameworks
Practical AI Application & Fluency:
Apply generative and agent-based AI to real workflows, focusing on process improvement, automation, and decision support
Translate AI capabilities and limitations into clear, actionable business value for end users and leaders
Education, Enablement & Adoption
Embed with teams to understand how work gets done, surface opportunities, and drive adoption through delivered solutions
Act as a hands-on resource for teams applying AI to their day-to-day work
AI Solution Delivery & Execution
Rapidly test ideas, gather feedback, iterate, and scale successful solutions in partnership with technology teams
Identify repeatable patterns and extend successful approaches across multiple teams and functions
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Help shape how AI is applied across workflows within the firm, grounded in practical use cases and business priorities
Continuously explore emerging capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem and identify the highest-impact opportunities
What You’ll Bring to Baird:
3–7 years of professional experience, including hands-on application of AI in a business environment
Demonstrated experience building, prototyping, or implementing AI-enabled solutions used in real workflows in a professional setting
Strong experience working within the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, M365 Agents Toolkit) or other AI tools (Claude, Chat GPT, etc.)
Comfort experimenting, iterating, and learning by doing, with a track record of delivering practical outcomes
Proven ability to work directly with end users to deliver high-impact solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
Bias toward action, ownership, and delivering tangible results
Intellectual curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to work through challenges to achieve meaningful outcomes
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field required
Why This Role:
This is an opportunity to operate as part of a small, high-impact team focused on applying AI to real business workflows across the firm. You will work directly with business teams, move quickly from idea to execution, and deliver solutions that are used day-to-day.
This is not a role focused on writing strategy documents or advising from the sidelines. You will be building, testing, and scaling solutions that directly improve how work gets done.
You will have the autonomy to experiment and the expectation to deliver. Success will come from building solutions that teams choose to use and from scaling what works across the firm.
